Competitive Gymnastics Teams

Blaze Gymnastics is home to more than 120 competitive gymnasts from Syracuse and throughout Central New York. Our girls’ Development Program, Xcel, and boys’ competitive teams include athletes training across the full range of levels within each program, from first-time competitors through advanced gymnasts. Blaze athletes from all three programs have qualified for national competition, several athletes have trained at the Youth Elite level, and numerous Blaze gymnasts have continued their careers as members of collegiate gymnastics teams. With a large, accomplished team and a comprehensive pathway for long-term development, Blaze provides athletes with the coaching, facilities, and opportunities needed to progress at every stage of the sport.

A gymnast in the USAG Developmental Program is required to compete on all four women’s events and must complete certain requirements on each event on a given level before advancing to the next. The Developmental Program at Blaze is broken down into
